**Happy Mother's Day**

There is no greater gift than the gift of Motherhood ... treasure it ladies and enjoy your special day, whatever it may bring.

These two cards were each created using the same ingredients consisting of pretty papers from the Flowery Papermania Collossal Paper pad, a strip of gorgeous shimmery ribbon and the inevitable diamante adhesive gems that have proved to be an absolute
'must have and must use' when it comes to butterflies.
This is my first post of 2012 so as a tentative step back into blogland I'll be entering these cards into the following challenges ...

Kaboodle Doodle Challenge 4

Kaboodle Doodle's Challenge 4 is a sketch from Andrea this time and I managed to complete this one well before the deadline of 28th March.

It's obviously another Mother's Day card using K. & Co. papers, green cardstock and gold mirri card all matted and layered onto pink textured cardstock.
Wide pink satin ribbon from my stash is tied in a knot across the bottom and pretty pink adhesive flowers decorate the greeting.

Mother's Day

Made another Mother's Day card this evening.

Paper and cardstock was from DCWV Rose Garden pad, which was a bargain buy at only £1 ... and the observant amongst you will see I have once again been brave with a button (yes ... singular again) only this time I cheated 'cos it's a button brad. Cute huh?
The lovely green velvet ribbon, (it really is green HONEST!), is from Dovecraft ... I lurrrrrve velvet ribbon.
Not sure about the inside of the card which shows the matching paper, but I think I ruined it with the overlay of gold mirri card ... *sigh* ... it definitely lacks something, just not sure what. Maybe some of that velvet ribbon?
Going to sleep on it and maybe the answer will come to me in a dream.

Sooooooooo ... I have another couple of Mother's Day cards to make ... (requests from other people, not because I have lots of mums in case you were wondering!) ... and a few Easter cards too.
There are some family birthdays up'n'coming over the next week or 2 as well, so plenty to keep me busy aaaaaaaaaaa...nd
if I'm really organised I may even get them posted on time! That would surprise EVERYONE ... including me!

Happy Mother's Day

I hope all you UK mums are spoiled rotten for
Mother's Day.

Start your day with a lovely lie in ... with no alarm clock interrupting your dreams ... breakfast in bed ... a day of pampering and pandering to your every whim ... a lovely meal in your favourite restaurant or something special cooked by a loved one and served with a nice glass of your favourite tipple with soft candlelight flickering across the table. Finish the day with a long bubbly soak and (if you're very lucky) a sensual body massage before snuggling up to dream more rainbow dreams. Aaaaahhhhhh bliss.

Well not for me!!
I have to get up at 6.30am because the children are bowling in a Ten Pin Tournament near Glasgow, a journey of almost an hour and half and we have to register at 8.30am. Eeeeeek !!! Will spend all day hanging around a boring bowling alley with disinterested staff who couldn't care less that you haven't had your caffeine quota yet and don't give a hoot about the fact that your kids don't like chips with everything. Don't suppose we will get home much before 9pm when there will just about be time for a bath and bed ready for school on Monday. Sounds like fun huh??

However ... on the plus side ... I will be spending Mother's Day with my wonderful children ... something that so many mothers are unable to do ... so for that I am truly grateful and my thoughts will be with those who are seperated from their children, for whatever reason.
There is no greater gift than the gift of Motherhood ... treasure it ladies and enjoy your special day, whatever it may bring.

Happy Mother's Day.

Another Mother's Day Card

This card was made for my Mother In Law and whilst I know it doesn't have the look of the one I made for my mum, I am sure she will like the pretty flowers.

As usual my photgraphs leave a lot to be desired so please do not adjust your specs!
David Bailey won't be losing any sleep that's for sure haha!

Mother's Day Card

It's been almost a week since my last post but then I did warn that the updates would be "as and when" ... so no surprises there.
Having said that I didn't anticipate quite such a long gap ... but here I am now and I do have something to show ... hope it pleases you as much as it does me. As you all know it is Mother's Day on Sunday 2nd March here in UK, and I have made my mum a bookcard.

The papers used are from the Nostalgia Warm range by Papermania and I love the soft, muted tones of this particular rose paper.
The various embellishments are from my craft stash and I'm sorry I have no idea where I got them all from.

I made a little pocket for the hug tag and wrote the message with a permanent black pen and it reads ...
"Nothing matches the comfort of a Mother's warm HUG"
The final pages have a stamped message on pink vellum and there's room for my personal message on the right.

The book pages are bound with brown organza ribbon which was a bargain buy in Kirkcaldy one day ... 5 metres for 50p!! I think it was a mistake by the sales assistant, but I wasn't saying anything.
