Bah Humbug! Challenge 26

Blimey Oh Riley!  Can it possibly be 1st July already?  Apparently so ... and that means that the school holidays will officially start at lunchtime today HOORAY!  It'll be nice to relax the routine for a few weeks ... we just need to hope for some sunshine so we can actually ENJOY lazy Summer days, rather than just dreaming of them lol!
Over at Bah! Humbug! though, there are no thoughts of sunshine as we're still concentrating on building up a decent stock of Christmas cards and for our challenge this week, we'd like to see how creative you can be with Acetate.  Now I admit that I'm not particularly confident when using this product so to keep out of trouble I opted to do an easy peasy lemon squeezy card using the simplest of ideas ... do you likee?  

Using an A5 piece of patterned card folded in half as a base card, I positioned a fancy-pantsy adhesive sticker on the front ... isn't it gorgeous? ... and then simply folded an identical sized piece of acetate to create a jacket cover over the top.   

This is held in place with narrow gold ribbon tied in a bow and a small peel off greeting was added to the bottom corner.   
TA DA!  Job done in 5 minutes!

Prize Arrived

The postie arrived today with my prize from Lets Make Cards ... comprising of a load of luvverly Paper Cellar products which I will no doubt have great fun playing with in the coming weeks.

The only problem's going to be deciding what to use first!

Let's Make Cards magazine ran a competition where we had to submit a card for World Card Making Day using just the supplies from the LMC Issue 18 Vintage Kit.

I posted off my card back in September/October and as time went by presumed I'd been unsuccessful.

So you can imagine how delighted, surprised and shocked I was to received a PM on the forum the other day to tell me I had been selected as one of the 9 lucky winners and loads of crafty stash is winging it's way to lickle ol' me. I understand that all the winning cards are featured in this month's LMC magazine ... is that exciting or what?

Will have to make sure I get a copy first thing tomorrow when it hits the shelves so I can show hubby when he gets home in case he thinks I've been spending again.

Just goes to show that it's always worth having a go.

Now ... if I could just be as lucky with the National Lottery ... hahahahaha !!

MOTM Prize

A rather battered and sorry looking parcel arrived this morning ... poor thing looked like it had done 10 rounds with Frank Bruno. But if ever there was an example of the saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover" ... then this was it!
Because when I opened it ... what a wealth of crafty treasure it contained !

It was my MOTM price from Crafts Beautiful. Ooodles and oodles of luvverly stash ... some of which I have never seen before and will need to investigate what it is and what to do with it LOL!

Then there were the embellishments ...

ribbons and sequins ... brads and flowers ... punches and mini papers ... stickers and pens ... and so much more.

Finally ... at the bottom were the paper pads and a CD rom of Fairies, wizards and fantasy characters, cards and matching envelopes and fabric stickers.

So a huge 'Thank You' to the CB team .... I am very grateful and can't wait to start playing with it all.

Now Jimi will definitely need to build some more storage LOL!

Can You Guess What Is In It Today?"Ok enough games ... I made an exploding box (as if you hadn't guessed) using the PM Retro Floral paper pad. There are lovely fresh spring colours in this pack and I think they would be perfect for a Springtime occasion. I didn't make it for any other reason than I haven't attempted one before.
Again ... I confess there were a few mistakes along the way ... rulers and I have never got on ... but overall I am pleased with the results.



Hidden inside is a sweet smelling pot pourri egg, which I made by glueing rose scented pot pourri to a polystyrene egg. Clever huh??
The dusky pink organza ribbon allows the egg to be hungup somewhere and hopefully, it's subtle fragrance will drift through the air as a wee reminder from whom it came.

For a little bit of fun I shall offer a small prize to the first 'Watch With Motherite' who can remember what programme used the rhyme I used in it's opening credits? Just leave a comment with your answer.
